Merle R. Wyant

He was born on November 13, 1930 in Brookville, the son of the late Frank and Bertha (McGarey) Wyant. On December 18, 1948 he married Ruth A. (Waite) Wyant, who passed away on January 16, 2006

Merle was a graduate of DuBois Area High School and went on to retire from Preston Trucking after 30 years of service.

He was a past trustee of the Union Teamsters Local 110, member of the Big “O” Club and the Falls Creek Eagles. He was an avid golfer at the DuBois Country Club and Beechwoods Golf course. He enjoyed sports and wood working.

Merle is survived by three daughters: Mary and the late Pat London, Rockton, PA; Jeanna and her husband Denny Reinard, Knox Dale, PA and Ruth Pearce, Falls Creek, PA and four sons: John and his wife Marie Wyant, Mercer PA; William "Bill” and his wife Lisa Wyant, DuBois,PA and Ray and his wife Susan Wyant, Troutville, PA, Jeff and his wife Tammy Wyant of Rockton, PA. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and two sisters: Grace Seyler of DuBois and Mary Carruthers of MI.

He was preceded in death by: two sons: Merle Jr. and Jim Wyant; two daughters: Sharon J. Wyant and Sandra and her husband Ralph Kness; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Wyant and a grandson, Brian London; two brothers: Lee Irvin and William Wyant.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the Mohney-Yargar Funeral Chapel, Inc. with Rev. Kevin Orndorff officiating. Burial will be at Beechwoods Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 6:00-8:00pm on Wednesday, December 2, at the Mohney-Yargar Funeral Chapel, Inc. An additional hour of viewing will be held on Thursday from 10:00am until the hour of service at the funeral home.
