Sandra L. Kness

Born January 30, 1947, in DuBois, she was a daughter of Merle Wyant and the late Ruth Waite Wyant. She was married to Ralph J. Kness on May 19, 1965. He preceded her in death on September 13, 2003.

She was a 1964 graduate of DuBois Area High School and was a life member of Lakeside United Methodist Church. She was employed with Kmart until retiring in 1985.

She liked to play cards and specifically solitaire. She enjoyed being an Army wife and traveling. She loved her grandchildren.

In addition to her father, she is survived by three daughters; Tammy (Scott) LaBorde of DuBois, Sheila (Richard) Hetrick of Spanaway, WA, and Christine (Todd) Welsh of Beechwoods; six grandchildren, Krystle, Brandon, Sean, Kirk, Bradley, and Cory.

Also surviving are four brothers, John, William, Raymond, and Jeffrey Wyant; three sisters, Mary London, Jeanna Reinard, and Ruth Pearce; and an uncle, Edson Waite, Jr.

In addition to her mother and her husband, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and James Wyant and a sister, Sharon Wyant.

KNESS: Sandra L. "Sandy" Kness, of DuBois, died August 4, 2010. Friends will be received from 2 - 4p.m. and 7 - 9p.m. Friday and 10a.m. until the time of service on Saturday, all at Mohney-Yargar Funeral Chapel in DuBois. A funeral service will commence at 11a.m. with Rev. Kevin Orndorff officiating.
