Sara M. Caldwell

Sara Margaret Hunter Caldwell, 93, formerly of Falls Creek, died June 18 in Auburn, NY. Born to Samuel M. Hunter and Mary Almeda Daugherty Hunter in DuBois on November 14, 1920, she married John R. Caldwell (Chub) of Falls Creek on June 3, 1941. He predeceased her in 1986. Together they raised three sons, John R. Jr. (Linda) of Virginia Beach, VA, Gary S.,Buzz, (Janet) of Skaneateles, NY, James J. (Judy) of Grosse Pointe, MI.

She and Chub were blessed with 7 grandchildren: Christen (Michael) Bovienzo, Jodi (Timothy) Trebilcock, John R. III, Yasmina, Socorro Guerre, Jay (Danelle), Jeff (Julie Cothron and daughter, Kelsey), David (Michelle), Joe (Maggie) and also were blessed with 15 great-grandchildren.

Family will receive guests and friends from 1:00 to 2:00 on Saturday, June 21,at the Falls Creek Presbyterian Church. A 2:00 funeral service will follow in the sanctuary where Sara Margaret played the piano and organ from the age of 13 to her “retirement” at 83.

Burial will be in the family cemetery in The Beechwoods beside her beloved Chub. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Falls Creek Presbyterian Church, Main Street, Falls Creek .
