Thomas Stanton

He was born on December 23, 1928 in DuBois, a son of the late Samuel and Isabel (Harrison) Stanton. On July 7, 1964 he married Barbara Ann Lombardo, who passed away July 1, 2012.

Thomas attended Sandy Twp. High School. After school he went on to work for the DuBois Brewery and delivered ice; he retired from Rockwell after forty years of service as a foremen; after his retirement he was employed by Osburn’s Buick.

He was a former member of the Sandy Hose Company and the Moose Lodge.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include three sons, Samuel Stanton of WV, Thomas Stanton of Hazen, and Joseph Stanton of DuBois; one daughter, Linda Moore and husband Earle of DuBois; seven grandchildren: Alan Moore of Treasure Lake, Jason Moore of Ft. Bragg, CA, Kelly (Moore) price of Waynesboro, PA, Samuel Stanton of DuBois, Elizabeth Stanton of Corsica, Andrew and Sarah Stanton of DuBois; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sisters, Irene Reitz and Betty Farkas and a brother, Joseph Stanton. He was the last member of his generation.

Friends will be received at the Mohney-Yargar Funeral Chapel Inc. on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm.

A funeral Service will be held at 10:30am on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Mohney-Yargar Funeral Chapel, Inc. with Msgr. Richard Siefer officiating.

Burial will be in St. Catherine’s Cemetery.
