Addison Hogan

Colonel Addison N. Hogan, of Dublin, died on February 16, 2012 at his residence. Services will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday at Adams Funeral Home in the chapel with Rev. Jim Sowden officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior. Burial will be held at Dublin Memorial Gardens with full military honors.

Born and reared in Laurens County, Colonel Hogan was the son of the late John David and Mary Verna Moorman Hogan. He was a member of Pine Forest Methodist Church. Colonel Hogan was a veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He was drafted into the military in 1942 as a Private and retired in 1970 as a full Colonel. During his military career, he received seventeen military awards. Some of those awards are; Meritorious Service Medal, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Army Commendation, Combat Infantry Badge and Gallantry Cross with Silver Star from the Government of Vietnam.

Survivors include his wife, Theresa Hogan, three sons George A. Hogan (Fay), William D. Hogan (Marla), and James A. Hogan (Sue). Three daughters, Mary Ann Tyre (Pete), Kris Harden (Greg) and Sue Leary (Ed). Four step children, James W. Williams (Debi), J. David Williams (Barbara Jean, deceased), Angela W. Brown (David) and J. Ted Williams (Ashley). Sister Evelyn Livingston; sixteen grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren also survive.

Colonel Hogan is predeceased by three sisters Lotus Alligood, Reba Lanier and Mary Hogan; three brothers J.D. Hogan, Lamar Hogan and Maurice Hogan.
