
Mr. Louis Ivey Peebles, 88, passed away at the VA Medical Center on Saturday July 2, 2011. Funeral services for Mr. Peebles will be held at 6:00 pm, July 3, 2011 at Adams Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens with Rev. Hugh Spivey officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Peebles was born in Emanuel County to the late Rollo Peebles and Annie Love Peebles of Adrian, Ga. He was a World War II army veteran and served in the 206th automatic weapons division of the 10th infantry. He retired from Shamrock Ltd. in 1985 where he worked as a department head mechanic. He is a member of East Dublin Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his loving wife Reba McCoy Peebles of Dublin; three children Louis Wayne (Susan) Peebles of Dublin, Ronnie Lane Peebles of Milledgeville, and Deann P. Morris of Dublin; four grandchildren Robert Brian Peebles (Laura) of St. Simons, Laura P. Watson (Brian) of Wadsworth, OH, Alex Peebles of Dublin, and Jonathan Morris of Dublin; two great-grandchildren Emma Watson and Bradley Watson both of Ohio; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Pallbearers will be: Jeff McCoy, Shawn McCoy, Brian Peebles, Alex Peebles, Jonathan Morris and Brian Watson.
