Born on September 15, 1949, in Merrill, Michigan, Barbara was the daughter of Maurice “Jake” and Wilma McDonald. She loved growing up on the farm and often shared fond memories of farm life – especially her love of pigs, which blossomed into a lifelong collection of pig-themed treasures, from stuffed animals to figurines and countless cherished keepsakes. She was a proud graduate of Merrill High School and loved her time playing the flute with the Merrill High School band.
Barbara dedicated many years of service working at Dow Chemical Company, with Bryan City Schools, and at the Northwest Ohio Educational Service Center.
A woman of deep faith, Barbara was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and, for the past 11 years, a devoted member of St. John Lutheran Church. She also gave her time as a volunteer and raised funds for the National Scleroderma Foundation.
Barbara had a special love for visiting Disney parks and treasured every opportunity to travel there. More than anything, she cherished the time spent with her family. “BarBar” especially loved her grandsons, who brought immense joy and pride to her life.
