He was born in Pensacola, Florida, on February 27, 1959, the cherished son of Glenn Howard Crowe and Betty Jo Crowe, and beloved brother of Douglas Glenn Crowe.
From an early age, Dan seemed built for the skies. He earned his pilot’s license before he earned his driver’s license. In July 1977, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, retiring twenty years later with the rank of Air Force Senior Master First Sergeant.
Upon retiring from the Air Force, Dan applied to law school. Still fascinated with flying, in his spare time, he built a small experimental aircraft in his garage. Dan earned his law degree from The University of Mississippi School of Law (Ole Miss) and practiced law for a short time in Mississippi. However, flying was still his passion. Dan moved to Florida and began flying full-time. He then accepted a position with a Tampa law firm being both its pilot and paralegal, while studying for the Florida Bar. After being admitted into the Florida Bar, Dan began his final career path as a Family Law Attorney in Tampa, retiring in 2021, to travel and explore other cultures.
Daniel is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his first wife, Teresa Harper; sons Glenn Crowe and David Crowe (Sarah Danielle); and grandchildren Norah, Riley, and Jack Crowe. Dan is survived as well by his devoted wife, the Honorable Kelly Ayers; stepchildren Mitchell Overfield, Kaelee Ayers, and Carson Overfield; brother Douglas Glenn Crowe (Ann); nephew Peter Crowe (Sarah Elizabeth); niece Katherine Boyce (Sean); and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
In the words of David Crowe, Dan was a “fun guy. He loved life, making trouble and was always the life of the party.”
He will be missed.
