Daniel Mark Scurria

Daniel Mark Scurria, age 69, of Powell, Ohio, passed away to life everlasting on Tuesday, July 7, 2026. Danny was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on January 6, 1957 to Vincent J. and Gertrude “Trudy” M. Scurria, the third of five sons.

Danny added a lot of color to the world throughout his life. After high school, he served his country in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1976. Upon his return to Columbus, Dan worked as a realtor, a finish carpenter, renovation contractor and had a long stint as a gentleman farmer. He liked to take on challenging projects and took satisfaction in seeing them through to completion. Danny also had a strong faith and was not shy about acknowledging his devotion. He prayed daily for the people he loved and he possessed a kind and generous spirit.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his oldest brother, James. Danny is survived by his four children, Jason McDaniel, Michelle Tiberio (Dom), Tiffany Cornette and Zachary Scurria, his five grandchildren and by his brothers, Michael (Paula), David, and Mark (Amy) and sister-in-law, Susan. Danny was also beloved by 10 nieces and nephews and 18 great-nieces and great-nephews, who will miss their Uncle Danny. Finally, Danny will be missed by his faithful furry companion, Moe; they were inseparable.

The family would like to thank the staff at The James Cancer Hospital for their compassionate and tender care over these past few months, as well as the staff at Capital City Hospice for the care and comfort they gave Danny in his time of need. We would also like to thank his friends at Alcoholics Anonymous-New Freedom Group. Danny credited his AA family for their love and support over the past five years. A private interment will occur at a later date.
