

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia McGlaughlin Kronk and Emmett McGlaughlin; his brother, Ted A. McGlaughlin; his sister-in-law, Diane McGlaughlin; and his nephew, Justin “JP” McGlaughlin.
He is survived by his loving wife, Onetta Lott McGlaughlin; his brother, Keith E. McGlaughlin; his sons, Eric L. McGlaughlin, Craig A. McGlaughlin, and Todd R. McGlaughlin (Mindi); his grandchildren, Bailey D. McGlaughlin Kupec (Austin), Cameron L. McGlaughlin Perez (Haze), Zachary R. McGlaughlin, Hailey E.C. McGlaughlin, and Maxwell G. McGlaughlin; and his great-grandson, Austin C. Kupec. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Linette Wooddell and Emma McGlaughlin; his nieces, Christa Hensel, Kelly Anne Tucker, Mary McGlaughlin, Sue McGlaughlin, Savannah Hensel, Valerie Wooddell, and Lydia Wooddell; his nephew, Michael Wooddell; and his great-nephew, Adam Wooddell.
Gary retired from Huntington National Bank as Senior Vice President of Special Assets following a distinguished career spanning more than 46 years in commercial banking, investment banking, and asset management.
A devoted family man, Gary enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, golfing, and cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes. He was an active member of the local Rhythm Reelers Square Dance Club, where he served on the board and formed many lasting friendships.
Scouting played a significant role throughout Gary's life. Beginning as a Cub Scout and continuing as a Boy Scout, Sea Explorer, and Cubmaster, he dedicated countless hours to mentoring and serving others. He also served on the Simon Kenton Council for more than nine years and was honored with the Silver Beaver Award in February 2012 for his exceptional volunteer service.
Gary was equally committed to his community. He volunteered with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio and dedicated many years of service to the Dublin Irish Festival. Through Optimist International, he served as a Past Distinguished President of the South Columbus Optimist Club and as a Lieutenant Governor, reflecting his lifelong commitment to helping others and strengthening his community.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Schoedinger Dublin, 5980 Perimeter Drive, Dublin, Ohio 43017, with Reverend John Cramton officiating. Light refreshments will be served following the service.
