Gino Michael Bozzo, age 84, of Powell, Ohio previously of Country Club Hills, Illinois passed away on November 4, 2023. He was born on November 25, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Joseph and Christina Bozzo (nee Broccoli).
Gino grew up in Roseland, Illinois and attended Fenger High School where he met his wife of 63 years. For over twenty years he was the building commissioner for the City of Country Club Hills, the position he retired from. Prior to that, he worked for the rest of his career for Welch Construction and the Electrolux vacuum cleaner company. He was a member of St. Emeric Catholic Church in Country Club Hills, Illinois for many years and a member of St. Joan of Arc and the SJofA Men’s Club in Powell, Ohio. Gino loved to build and work on home improvement projects. He was a talented woodworker and artist who also passionately loved to cook. He enjoyed spending time at his cottage on Lake Shafer in Monticello, Indiana, a home in which he and his family completely rebuilt. He loved all sports but most of all football and was a longtime Green Bay Packers fan.
Gino will be deeply missed by his wife Barbara (nee Stoltz) and his children Victoria, Richard, Michael (Yvonne), Peter (Sarah), Amy and Alyson. He was the proud grandpa of Bradley, Katherine, Peter Jr. and Nicholas. He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Christina; sister Bruna Conzachi and twin sister Maryjean Labriola.
Visitation will be held at Schoedinger Dublin; 5980 Perimeter Drive Dublin, Ohio 43017 on Wednesday November 15, 2023 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday November 16, 2023 at 11:00 am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church; 10700 Liberty Road Powell, Ohio 43065.
The family is planning to have a Celebration of Life for friends and family of Gino on Saturday December 9th, 2023 from 1:00 - 5:00 pm at the Flossmoor Country Club; 1441 Western Avenue, Flossmoor, IL 60422. Hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be served
