I was privileged to teach with Jim for many years. He was well-liked and respected by his colleagues. We enjoyed his sense of humor and ever-pleasant demeanor. He will be missed.

As a beginning tennis player I so appreciated Jim’s willingness to work with us in his Sunday sessions, and his overall dedication to CH tennis.  His warm personality and ever present smile will be missed.

Clare….Cedar Hammock will not be the same without Jim. I will miss his smile, his friendship, and his encouraging comments. Jim was part of my regular Friday foursome with Jim Plotner and John Winzeler. We had so much fun together joking and laughing. He took such great delight when he out drove the three of us. And anyone down at the tennis courts in the afternoon was sure to see Jim come riding in on his scooter to check that they were watered properly. His diligence ensured we had great courts on which to play. We will think of him often in the upcoming season and be sure to keep you in our prayers.

Clare, what a sad surprise to read about Jim in the Dispatch.  He was the leader of the Wednesday harem - all of us widows.   He put up with us in good humor and enabled you to continue to be a part.  I am so sorry that you have lost him.

Jim will be greatly missed at Cedar Hammock tennis court.  He was a joy to be around .  He graciously filled in for the ladies league when needed.

Clare…..so very sorry for your loss. Jim was such a nice man and simply the heartbeat of tennis at Cedar Hammock. Being greeted by Jim when you arrived at the courts was always a highlight of your day. He will be dearly missed by all at CH and Im sure in Dublin as well.

This is Sandy McCracken and Jim was our assistant couch for tennis beginner clinics at Cedar Hammock.  On Sundays, I would see him sitting on the bench waiting for my fellow tennis players and I to join him.  He was a good couch and very encouraging.  We enjoyed his teaching very much and I believe he enjoyed being with us as well.  I will miss seeing him and his warm smile waiting for me and my friends on that bench.   My condolences to his family.  God Bless Jim for his kindness.

As with so many of us newcomers to Cedar Hammock tennis,  Jim was a one man welcoming committee,  encouraging us and offering advice both on and off the courts. 

I will miss his sage words and his willingness to be the 4th player whenever he was needed.   He was a prince of a man who will be sorely missed.

I am so sorry for your loss. I didn't know Jim for very long. When I was just learning tennis 2 years ago, he helped me. He also brought all of us tennis girls basil plants that he started from seed. Mine grew huge for me. He will be fondly remembered. God bless and rest his soul.
