Jennifer is survived by her two children, Cole Blough and Alyssa Blough; her mother Dolores (James) and two sisters Christine (Kelly) and Theresa (Orest). She was a beloved cousin, niece, aunt, colleague and friend to many.
Jennifer graduated from Purdue University where she was a residential advisor, active in many campus organizations and a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority.
Jen was the center of every gathering-with her bright smile and enthusiastic interest in everyone and everything. She was known for her baking-and her signature, decadent chocolate peanut butter pie was loved by nearly everyone who tried it.
Jennifer loved big family vacations in the Outer Banks, working out with her trainer Martha, playing with her young niece Alexis, reading mysteries and novels, playing board games with family, going to the theater and concerts with her husband and-occasionally sneaking out with him for ice cream sundaes.
She was a highly-respected Human Resources Director and committed volunteer, serving as a state-wide and national advocate for Alzheimer’s research and family support initiatives. One of her passions was teaching the confirmation classes at church.
Despite her aggressive brain cancer diagnosis one year ago, Jen responded well to treatment and was able to remain mostly at home, enjoying time with her family and observing the backyard wildlife sanctuary she created with her husband.
A life-long sports fan, Jennifer bought season tickets for the Cleveland Browns so she and her family could attend the games together. Her real sports passion, though, was for the Chicago Cubs. She and her family attended one last game at Wrigley Field in September. She was able to celebrate a big family Christmas, and two milestone birthdays with her mother and mother-in-law. She joins her father, Jim, in Heaven and will continue to shine her light on the world through her legacy of love and kindness and the wonderful memories those who knew her hold dear.
Visitation will take place on Thursday August 25, 2022 from 6pm to 8pm at SCHOEDINGER DUBLIN, 5980 Perimeter Drive, Dublin, OH 43017. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday August 27, 2022 at 11am at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 5475 Brand Road, Dublin, Ohio 43017.
