Joann Ruth Pearce

Joann R. Pearce passed away February 1, 2022 at home in Plain City, Ohio. She was born June 17, 1931 in Eureka, California, the oldest child of Joseph and Ethel Swenson. Home was Southern California, with summer trips to the family farm in North Ogden, Utah. She married her high school sweetheart Dellas Pearce in 1950. Except for a couple of years in North Carolina when Dellas was stationed at Fort Bragg, they remained in Southern California, together raising three girls. Joann worked for Home Savings bank as a public relations specialist, training staff and officers in customer service. She will be remembered for her passion for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren along with her desire to always "spread some sunshine". Joann is preceded in death by her husband Dellas and is survived by her daughters Nancy Russell, Maralee Thorp, and Rhonda Pearce, her brother Charles Swenson and sister Geraldine Goetz, nine grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. A service celebrating her life will be held in June in North Ogden, Utah.
