Jodene Ann “Jody” Caron Buchanan, 66, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family and sustained by her faith in Jesus Christ.
Born in Framingham, Massachusetts, Jody spent her childhood in Massachusetts, Georgia, and Ohio before graduating from Glenwood High School in Canton. She attended The Ohio State University, where she was a proud member of Chi Omega and met her lifelong friend Melissa. After college, she built a successful career with Nationwide Insurance before dedicating herself to raising Brooke and Collin in Dublin, Ohio. Later in life, she returned to work at Morgan House, where she found meaningful work and lasting friendships.
Being a mother was Jody’s greatest calling. She loved Brooke and Collin fiercely and found one of life’s greatest joys in becoming “Grandma” to Frankie, Violet, and Joe. An avid traveler, she was always eager to explore the world with her family and create lasting memories together.
Jody will be remembered for her kind heart, resilient spirit, unwavering faith, and gift for building lifelong friendships. She found community through her work, her neighbors, and a fellowship that became an important part of her life, where she both received and gave hope, encouragement, and friendship.
Jody was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Susan Caron.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Brooke Buchanan; her son, Collin Buchanan and his wife, Hailey; her cherished grandchildren, Frankie, Violet, and Joe; her younger sister, Cari, and brother-in-law, Joe, along with their children, Grant, Charlotte, and Ariel; her older sister, Beth, and her husband, David; and many extended family members, dear friends, neighbors, coworkers, and members of her fellowship.
The love Jody gave, the lives she touched, and the memories she created will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
A Celebration of Life honoring Jody will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Dublin Community Church. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Ohio State University James Cancer Hospital or The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Jody’s memory.
