John Alan Wells

Born on May 9, 1943, John was the son of Alonza Wells and Eleanor Groshke. He grew up in Bay Village, Ohio, alongside his three brothers, Joel, Jimmy, and Jeff. His childhood was filled with family, friends, and baseball. As a young man, John played baseball and worked for Sells C-Stores, experiences that helped shape the strong work ethic and commitment to others that would remain with him throughout his life.

John was incredibly proud of his 31-year career with Professional Practice Management. His work was much more than a profession to him, it gave him the opportunity to build meaningful connections with colleagues and clients, many of whom became lifelong friends. John valued those relationships deeply and remained connected to many of the people he met throughout his career. His commitment to his profession also led him to serve as President of Professional Business Consultants from 1992 to 1993, a role he was proud to hold.

John also had a love for travel and the experiences and friendships that came with it. Lost Valley Ranch held a particularly special place in his heart and became the setting for many cherished vacations memories. He also looked forward to winters spent in Hilton Head, where warmer days often meant a round of golf at Old South Golf Links. Some of his favorite times were spent on the course with his dear friends from Canada, playing many rounds of golf, sharing stories and laughter, and enjoying friendships that made those winters so memorable.

Above all, John built a life centered around his family. He is survived by his wife, Ann Page Wells, and their three children: Andrew Wells, and his partner, Jennifer Yost; Julie Hudak, and her husband, Ben; and Jeannie Thorne, and her husband, Kevin.

One of John’s greatest joys was being a grandfather. His grandchildren Olivia, Abigail, Jackson, Isaac, Hannah, Walker, and Ainsley held a special place in his heart. Through them, his children, and the many people whose lives he touched, John’s stories, traditions, humor, and love will continue for generations.

John will be remembered not simply for the years he lived, but for the life he built and the relationships he treasured along the way. His family will hold close the ordinary moments that became some of the most meaningful, the stories told again and again, family gatherings, laughter, friendships that lasted decades, and the many ways John made his presence known in the lives of those he loved.

He leaves behind a family deeply grateful for the years they were fortunate enough to share with him and a wide circle of friends and colleagues whose lives were enriched by knowing him. John’s life will be celebrated, his stories will continue to be told, and his memory will be carried forward by those who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held on Friday August 28, 2026, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Schoedinger Dublin, 5980 Perimeter Drive Dublin Ohio 43017. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday August 29, 2026, at 11:00am at St. Patrick Episcopal Church, 7121 Muirfield Dr, Dublin, OH 43017.
