

Joseph Francis Amoroso, 84, of Dublin, Ohio, passed away on May 25, 2026. He was born on July 27, 1941, in Rochester, New York, to the late Joseph C. Amoroso and Domenica “Mamie” Amoroso. Joe attended St. Bonaventure University with a degree in English, where he served as President of the Student Senate and met the love of his life, Patricia Amoroso. He began his career as an English teacher at Aquinas Institute and later taught in the Greece Central School District in Rochester, New York. He was also a beloved cross country and track coach at Greece Arcadia, where he encouraged and inspired countless young people through his steady example and genuine care.
Joe lived a life defined by kindness, humility, curiosity, and deep devotion to his family and friends. He had a love of running and completed three marathons and many triathlons. He also found joy in exploring nature and exercising his creative side through woodworking. Gentle, kind, and quick to laugh, he was a man with a true thirst for knowledge.
Joseph was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia A. Amoroso, and his eldest son, Joseph E. Amoroso. His love and devotion to both remained central to his life even after their passing.
Joe is lovingly remembered by his children Jeff (Sue) Amoroso; Kim (Greg) Lesperance; Matt (Vicki) Amoroso and his daughter-in-law Trish Amoroso. He was a proud grandfather to Joey (Amy), Ryan (Katie), Jamie (Jared), Charlie, Jack, Maddie, Olivia, Sonni, Bailey, Chris and Jen and a cherished great-grandfather to Mac, Ava, Ruby, Jack, Lenni and Sloane.
Joe is survived by his brother, Anthony J. (Roslyn, deceased) Amoroso, and his brother-in-law, Robert (Mariann, deceased) Gofonia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Brigid of Kildare Catholic Church, 7179 Avery Rd., Dublin, OH 43017. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Chemo Companions at chemocompanions.org.
