

Died peacefully in Sarasota, FL. He was born in Columbus, Ohio to Italian immigrants Attilio Bonta and Louise Cinflona. He was married to Juanita (Nicki). He attended Colgate University, Cornell University, and completed his residency at The Ohio State University. Joseph served in both the Navy during WWII and the Air Force during the Korean War, where he was chief of surgery at Clark Field Air Force Base in the Philippines. After the war, he started his private practice in Columbus, OH as a surgical oncologist for 43 years. Joseph enjoyed flying his V-tail Beechcraft bonanza, golfing, fly-fishing, and traveling the world. He was proceeded in death by his parents, sister, Mary Ann, and wife, Juanita. He is survived by his children, Lisa (Darrin), Marco (Kimberly); many grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as many loving relatives in Italy. Family will receive friends, Friday, October 21 from 4p.m. to 7 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER DUBLIN, 5980 Perimeter Dr. Dublin, OH 43017. Interment services are Private.
