Born on April 26, 1945, Lauren was known for her warmth, creativity and her gift for entertaining and bringing people together in her home.
Lauren loved her job where she worked in Store Operations, Training and Development, Community Citizenship, Associate Recognition, written and video Communications and Marketing. She served on the Board of the United Way and the March of Dimes and was instrumental in raising more than $400,000 for Juvenile Diabetes and other children’s charities. Besides having her beautiful daughter, Amanda, Lauren felt her greatest accomplishment was having the associates of the company she worked for take up a petition to bring her back after a major downsizing of the company which had recently been sold.
She was an avid member of CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) in North Royalton, Ohio, and loved helping plan yearly Tim Tebow sponsored “Night to Shine” proms for special needs adults ages 14 years and older.
Lauren is survived by Peter, her loving husband of 58 years, her daughter Amanda (Jamie), her beloved grandsons, Cooper, Colin, and Riley, granddaughter Arianna, her sister Sharon Gaal, and brother Robert (Debbie) Novak. She was preceded in death by parents, Frank and Helen Novak, and brother, Richard Novak. She also leaves behind many dear friends and extended family members, all of whom she loved beyond words.
A celebration of life will be held at Schoedinger Dublin, 5980 Perimeter Drive, Dublin, Ohio 43017 on Sunday, January 18, at 2:30 p.m. There will be no viewing.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ohio Chapter of ALS United (alsohio.org) in honor of Lauren’s strength, resilience and the legacy she leaves behind.
