

Linda graduated from Hammond High School in 1963 then attended Purdue University to study interior design and joined the Pi Beta Phi sorority. She then married the love of her life and dedicated her life to caring for her family and friends while volunteering for her communities through the Munster Community Hospital, Stephen Ministry, and a local Hospice Foundation. Known for her creative talents and artistic touch, she created beautiful homes and used needle and thread to expertly create beautiful clothing, quilts, and heirlooms. She will be deeply and profoundly missed by all the family and friends she touched with her gentle warmth.
Linda is survived by her devoted husband John Edward Mitchell; daughter Lisa (Eric Sullivan) and son Curt (Amy); cherished grandchildren Madeline and Matthew Sullivan (Powell, Ohio), and Lindsay (Salt Lake City, Utah) and Heather Mitchell (Las Vegas, Nevada).
She was preceded in death by her parents, James M. and Audry (Biles) Patterson, and her brother James M. Patterson, Jr.
A gathering to celebrate Linda’s life will be held on October 9, 2025, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Schoedinger Dublin, 5980 Perimeter Drive, Dublin, Ohio 43017.
