It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lisa Lavonne White-Choung, who left us on November 5, 2025, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Lisa was born on April 24, 1973, at University Hospital in Columbus to her beloved parents, Mary Constance White (Newell) and Ronald Fullerton White.
A dedicated and driven woman, Lisa’s educational journey was nothing short of remarkable. She graduated from Dublin High School in 1991 before attending the University of Kentucky where she studied Premedical Sciences and earned a place on the Dean’s List. Lisa continued her academic excellence at The Ohio State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1996, graduating Magna Cum Laude and again achieving Dean’s List honors. She completed her medical degree at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 2000.
After medical school, Lisa began her career in medicine with a Preliminary Medicine Internship at Riverside Methodist Hospital, followed by a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School from 2002 to 2005. She pursued a fellowship in Interventional Pain Management at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 2005-2006.
Lisa’s career as a physician and medical leader included serving as an Interventional Pain Physician at Central Ohio Neurological Surgeons, Inc. from 2006 to 2013, and later as Associate Medical Director at Maximus, Inc. from 2013 to 2019. In 2014, she joined Quantum Health as a Medical Director, where she continued to serve with dedication until her retirement in 2025.
Lisa was a generous, caring and loving wife and mother who made sure her four boys (Ed included) focused on the important things in life: showing compassion and concern for others, living life to the fullest, and, most importantly, having fun. She loved her summers fishing at the family cabin in Killarney, Canada. She cherished her time away from the cold Columbus winters in Key West, Florida, where she and Ed gained an appreciation of country music. She loved being outside, planting flowers around the house, tending to her native garden, trying to raise monarch butterflies, or feeding and watching birds. Most importantly, she adored her three sons and was so proud of the men they were becoming, despite Ed’s best efforts. We will miss her dearly and were blessed to have her in our lives.
Lisa is survived by her loving husband, Edward Choung; her three sons, Brandon, Andrew, and Ethan (Pablo); her devoted mother, Mary White; her brother, Brian White, and his wife Nina; her nephew, Austin; her niece, Lauren; and her cherished dogs, Murphy and Maverick.
A visitation will be held at Schoedinger Dublin, 5980 Perimeter Drive, Dublin, OH 43017, on Friday November 21, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
