Sergeant Lynn Kent Jarvis II, 45, was born December 31, 1978, in Columbus, Ohio. He went home to be with the Lord on September 6, 2024, with his family by his side after a very courageous battle with brain cancer.
Lynn is preceded in death by his grandparents, Marjorie and Edgar Jarvis. He is survived by his parents, Lynn Sr. and Melody Jarvis of Columbus, Ohio; daughter Layne Jarvis of Cape Coral, Florida; and brother David New of Columbus, Ohio. He will forever be in our hearts, and we will miss him every day.
Lynn was a member of the Army National Guard for 14 years where he proudly served his country. He served in the Iraq Freedom War. He retired from the military after he became ill.
Lynn was an avid OSU Buckeye football fan and looked forward to Saturday game day. One of his favorite things to do was take his souped-up Mustang to the car shows. He liked to camp and fish with his dog, Chloe. Music was a big part of Lynn’s life when he was a DJ. He listened to his music for hours a day as a way to find relief from his illness.
Family will receive guests on Saturday, September 28, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Lynn’s memorial service will begin at 3:00 p.m. Pastor Micah Pelkey from Storyside Church in Bellville, Ohio, where Lynn attended, will officiate the service. Burial will be at Union Cemetery on Monday, September 30, at 11:00 a.m. with U.S. Army Honor Guard and Pastor Mark Chong officiating.
