Marcie Ann Fronefield Marsh, 37, passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 14th, 2022. She was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania on May 28, 1985, to Herman and Debra (Blount) Fronefield, later moving to West Virginia and then to the Ohio Valley with her family. Marcie was a 2003 graduate of Wheeling Park High School in Wheeling, West Virginia. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a minor in Human Development and Family Science from The Ohio State University in 2007, where she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority. Marcie continued to Hofstra University, School of Law, where she obtained her Juris Doctor in 2011, working in the child and family advocacy clinic and completing two clerkships for family law judges in New York. Upon returning to Columbus in 2013, she became dual licensed with the Ohio bar. Marcie was a fierce advocate for battered survivors and their children through the Ohio Domestic Violence Network, and was proudly working with Greco Law in Dublin, Ohio, at the time of her passing. She was recognized by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys as 10 Best Under 40, a Rising Star with Super Lawyers, and a Columbus Top Lawyer of 2022 by ColumbusCEO. Marcie was an inaugural member of LINC Leadership Board for the United Way of Central Ohio, and sat as Chairwoman of the Columbus Bar Association Municipal Law Committee from 2015-2017.
Marcie managed to balance her professional life with her personal and family life. She loved spending time at the pool with her daughters, Emma and Alice, playing games with her husband, and catching sunshine on patios surrounded by family and friends. Marcie’s journey was winding, but she achieved the major life-goals she had envisioned for herself, and was looking forward to continuing her journey. Marcie’s touch on the lives she encountered will remain as part of her legacy, ensuring that her daughters will know who she was, and they will have no doubt of the immense strength she possessed.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Pat and George Blount and Frederick Fronefield; and her two rescues, Mitch and Micah. Marcie is survived and mourned by her husband, Carl Marsh; her daughters, Emma and Alice; her parents, Herman and Debra Fronefield; her sister, brother-in-law and nephew, Katrina and Jon Jenness and Colin Jenness; her sister-in-law, brother-in-law and nieces, Emily and Zach Carben and Marlow and Cassidy; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Diencha and Dave Marsh; her aunts and uncles, Melissa and Brian Gillard, Pat and Alfred Fronefield, and Ralph Fronefield; her grandmother, Grace Emma Fronefield; and countless friends and colleagues across the country.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4pm on Friday, August 26th, 2022, at SCHOEDINGER DUBLIN, 5980 Perimeter Drive, Dublin, 43017.
