

Marion C. Colliver, 91, a resident of the Ohio Veterans Home in Georgetown, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 2, 2023. Marion was an Ohio citizen and beloved family man. Marion was born September 10, 1931, to Ola and Arl Colliver in Grange City, Kentucky. When Marion was 13 years old, his family moved to Brown County Ohio, settling in the city of Macon, Ohio.
In 1949, Marion graduated from the Russellville Ohio High School. A year later, in 1951 he enlisted in the United States Air Force. Over the years he proudly served, he was stationed at many air bases both overseas: Morocco, Greenland and South Vietnam; and stateside: Lackland Air Force Base, (AFB), Texas, Travis AFB, California, Patrick And Homestead AFBs, Florida, Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio and Chanute AFB, Illinois.
In 1973, after 23 years of loyal service, Marion retired from the Air Force and moved his family to Columbus, Ohio. In Columbus he studied at The Ohio State University and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education. After graduation he became a Business Teacher at the Hamilton Township High School, in Columbus, for 20 years. He retired from teaching in 1995.
His hobbies included wood carving, golfing, reading, and playing with his two adorable dogs, Mischief, a Jack Russell/Corgi, and Rusty, a Dachshund. He was a huge fan of The Ohio State University football team and enjoyed watching their games.
Marion was a faithful member of the Hillsboro Global Methodist Church. He has been a member of the Freemasonry for over 50 years. He is also a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).
He was preceded in death by Judy S. Purdin, who he was married to for 9 years (1953-1962) and Joan F. Colliver who he was married to for 46 years (1963-2009). After Joan’s death, he moved to Hillsboro, Ohio, where he enjoyed his Golden years living near his daughter Kitty and son-in-law,Tim Rhodes.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, Ola and Arl Colliver, his brother, Brooks Colliver and Sister-in Law, Marie Colliver. He is survived by his brother, Michael Colliver (Ella Lou) of Simpsonville, South Carolina; Five children, Kitty Colliver Rhodes (Tim) of Hillsboro, Ohio; Robert “Rick” Colliver (Susan) of Dublin, Ohio; Kellie Colliver McHone (Barry) of Pawleys Island, South Carolina; Marion Randall “Randy” Colliver (Tammy) of Clarksville, Tennessee; and Michele “Mickie” Colliver of Hillsboro, Ohio. Marion has 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Friday, May 5, 2023 at 11:00 AM at SCHOEDINGER DUBLIN; 5980 Perimeter Drive, Dublin, Ohio 43017. Interment to follow service at Dublin Cemetery; 83 W. Bridge Street Dublin, Ohio 43017.
