Mbulelo Gladstone Mzozoyana was born in QweQwe, (Rhodesia) Zimbabwe on April 18, 1954, to the family of Leslie Mavuso and Sophia Dorothy Mzozoyana. He departed this life on February 26, 2024, in Columbus, Ohio, having lived 69 years, 10 months and 8 days on this earth.
He grew up in a large, loving family with his parents, two sisters (Nontsikelelo Munyanda and Nonceba Mathema) and four brothers (Agrippa, Vuyo, Loyiso and Mpumelelo Mzozoyana) where Christian principles were not only practiced but proclaimed to neighbors and friends.
Following graduation from secondary school in Zimbabwe, Mbulelo matriculated to Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee; he left Nashville and relocated to Oxford, Ohio, to attend Miami University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. In 1985, Mbulelo earned a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky, and then in May 2002, he graduated from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, with a Doctoral degree in Educational Administration.
His work history included employment at the Ohio Department of Health, the Ohio Department of Education, The Ohio State University and the Department of Veteran Affairs.
As a fourth generation Seventh-day Adventist, serving the Lord was a paramount duty of his life. He served and supported the Lord’s work in many capacities to include serving as a deacon, church elder, Sabbath School superintendent and adult Sabbath School teacher and many other offices.
Mbulelo was introduced to his wife Teri (Sherron) by his future mother in-law, Mbulelo and Teri were married on June 15, 1986, and were married for 37 years. To their union two children were born, Mavuso Wesley and Nomsa Yvonne Mzozoyana. He was a quiet, unassuming man who dearly loved the Lord and his family. He left his children an enduring legacy and example of a Christian’s walk with the Lord by committing to live his life as a good father and a Christian man.
He had a love for helping senior citizens and in his spare time and on the weekends, he spent time performing yard work, gardening, transportation to medical appointments and providing other assistance as needed around their homes.
He has left to remember and mourn his passing his wife Teri, his son Mavuso, his daughter Nomsa, his sister Nonceba Mathema of Zimbabwe, his brother Mpumelelo Mzozoyana of Cleveland, Ohio, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mbulelo was a quiet, unassuming man who dearly loved the Lord and cherished his family; he was a man who refused to allow the fear of death to consume him.
He will be greatly missed, and we look forward to being reunited with him on that day when the Lord returns to receive His own.

I carry your heart with me
I carry your heart with me (I carry it in
my heart) I am never without it (anywhere
I go you go, my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing, my darling)
I fear no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet) I want
no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true)
and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you
Here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart
I carry your heart (I carry it in my heart)
