Michael Ellis

Mike was born on November 24, 1975 in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Elaine (Catliff) and Richard Ellis. He grew up in Gahanna, Ohio, and graduated from Gahanna Lincoln High School with the class of 1994, where he played travel hockey.

Throughout his career, Mike brought his intelligence, dedication, and strong work ethic to everything he did. He managed Massey’s Pizza before beginning a career in IT. He eventually joined ScottsMiracle-Gro, where he loved his work and the people he worked with. He especially enjoyed watering the gardens there and took great pride in caring for them. Mike was a natural leader who cared deeply about his team and those around him.

Outside of work, Mike enjoyed playing pool and golf and had a lifelong love of hockey. He was a devoted dog lover and had a kind and generous heart, always willing to do anything he could for others. Mike loved the Beatles, baking cookies, and making sourdough bread. He found joy in the simple things and had a way of making those around him feel cared for.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his aunts, Miriam Totten and Cindy Golden.

Mike will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Allison (Inkrot) Ellis; his brother, Bob (Susan) Ellis; his niece, Katie Ellis; his cousins, Kristine Williams, Matthew Totten, and Andrew Totten and their families; and his dear friends, Joe McFann, Jim Thompson, and Bill Bolzenius, along with many other friends whose lives he touched.

Family and friends may gather from 2–4 p.m. and 6–8 p.m. on Monday, September 28, 2026, at Schoedinger Dublin, 5980 Perimeter Drive, Dublin, Ohio 43017.

Mike will be remembered for his intelligence, kindness, generosity, love of family and friends, and his willingness to help anyone in need. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
