Michelle was born in Ironton, Ohio, and graduated from Ironton High School where she was in marching band, beginning her lifelong love of football and marching bands. She graduated from Ohio University, Southern Campus, with a Bachelor’s in Social Work. After working in social work for several years, she began law school at Capital University in Columbus, where she earned her Juris Doctorate. After passing the bar, she began her legal career at the Franklin County Public Defender's Office, later going on to work for the Office of Disciplinary Counsel at the Supreme Court and at the Ohio Nursing Association. She collected friends at every phase of her life and career. Finding the best in everyone was her passion and drove her career in public service.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ronnie Lambert and Connie Sue Bryant, several aunts and uncles, nephew Gary McGuire, Jr., and her beloved fur children, Tiffany, Rocky, Max, and Faith. She is survived by her loving husband of more than 20 years, Robbie Bowman; fur children Buckeye and Scarlet; her brothers Deron (Heather) and Jeff Lambert; stepmother Lynn Lambert, sister-in-law Susan (Gary) McGuire; nephews and nieces Isabella (Austin) Hopper, Jack, Lauren, and Aiden Lambert, Tara, Macey (Batu), and Devyn (Nina) McGuire; great-nephew Asher “Ash” Hopper, and many cousins and their spouses.
Michelle will be remembered for her affectionate laugh, her infectious smile, and her willingness to find the good in people. She loved country music, dancing of all types, including Jazzercise, traveling (especially the beach!), and meeting old friends and making new ones everywhere she went. Her kindness and wisdom, and her tremendous sense of fun, were gifts to everyone who knew her. She was an advocate for Big Brothers and Sisters, helping children find the right path. She was an avid fan of THE Ohio State University, attending football games and cheering on her beloved Buckeyes and TBDBITL! She loved all animals, but she absolutely could not pass a dog without loving on it.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the CHA Animal Shelter, where she volunteered, or to any animal adoption charity.
