Paula Jane Crawford

Paula Jane Crawford, 65, passed away at home on Monday, September 25, 2023. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Ken; son, Justin (Angelica) Crawford; daughter, Amanda (Scott) Hicks; brothers Mark (Dawn) Ramsay, Matt Demmerle (Carole) and Craig Ramsay; and beautiful grandchildren Lexi Trujillo, Emrie Hicks, Evan Crawford, Jack Crawford and Kaden Hicks, as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Jane and Albert Demmerle and her beautiful granddaughter Apple Hicks. Paula eventually succumbed to an incurable glioblastoma brain tumor that was diagnosed in November 2022. Paula was born in Detroit, January 21, 1958, grew up in Farmington Hills, and graduated from North Farmington High School in 1976. Paula and Ken were married August 4, 1979. Paula graduated from Western Michigan University in 1979 and fulfilled a rewarding teaching career before retiring in 2014. Prior to her diagnosis, Paula was very active. It was a rare day that she didn’t log 10,000 steps on her Fitbit, many days exceeding 20,000 steps. Paula was very sociable. She loved walking and talking with her friends, of which she had many. Paula loved gardening; she would often say that she couldn’t get her hands dirty enough. But most of all, in the last years of her life, Paula loved spending time with her beautiful grandchildren. She would often say that her heart ached to be with them. If you needed a best friend, Paula was your girl. She will be missed beyond words. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, October 1, 2023, at Schoedinger Dublin Funeral Home 5980 Perimeter Drive. Dublin, OH 43017. Visitation will also be held from 9:30 AM until time of service, 10:30 AM, Monday, October 2, 2023, at the Funeral Home. Interment will be held after the service at Jerome Township Cemetery.
