Rachel E. Laylin of Powell, Ohio, passed away suddenly on February 18, 2026. She was born March 25, 1977, in Arlington, Texas. Her professional career spanned more than 20 years in the telecommunications industry with Verizon and its legacy companies.
She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Chris; daughters Avery and Cadi; parents Alan and Lauana Fountain of Burleson, Texas; brother Brett (Andrea) of Mineola, Texas; and sister Julie of Columbus, Ohio.
Rachel had a passion for cooking, never following a recipe so re-creating meals was an art, not a science. She self-admittedly was unable to bake, leaving those tasks to her youngest daughter, Cadi. She was an avid NFL fan, with unwavering support for her Dallas Cowboys. These two passions were dwarfed by her love for her two daughters and her entire family. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
