Sharon Kay Demmy (Patton), age 73, of Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026, following a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease, and has since joined her Savior in His Heavenly Kingdom.
Born on March 17, 1953, in Dayton Ohio, Sharon was the beloved daughter of the late Hobert and Susan Patton. Throughout her life, she exemplified compassion, strength, and steadfast dedication to those she loved and served.
Sharon devoted more than 25 years of her life to caring for others as a licensed registered nurse working in the ICU. Nursing was more than a profession—it was her calling. She touched countless lives through her skill, kindness, and genuine concern for every patient entrusted to her care. She embodied the values reflected in the Nurses Nightingale Pledge, living each day with integrity, compassion, and selfless service, ensuring patient dignity, advocating for patients and making certain those she cared for were never left to feel alone.
Above all, Sharon cherished her family. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Gina Lynn Crosby and her husband, Brian Crosby, and their children, Lindsey, Korey, Jack, and Jacob; and by her son, Jeffrey Michael Settle and his wife, Cherie Settle, and their children, Ian, Paige, Mollie, and Bailey.
She is also survived by her two sisters, Pam Orem and Debbie DiGiannantonio, and their spouses, as well as several beloved nieces, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.
Outside of her nursing career, Sharon found joy in traveling, tending her garden, caring for animals, and spending precious time with those she loved most. She was determined, accomplished, generous, and fiercely loyal—a woman whose heart of gold left an enduring mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Though dementia gradually stole many of her memories, it never diminished the love she gave or the legacy she leaves behind. Her empathy for others, supportive nature, and unwavering devotion to her family and her patients will continue to inspire all who knew her.
A private memorial service will be held with close family.
The family welcomes expressions of sympathy through condolences sent to the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Sharon’s honor to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund at www.curealz.org.
“Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!” Matthew 25:23
