Thomas R. Alexis, age 75, of Dublin, Ohio, passed away on June 23, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born on August 25, 1949, in Jamestown, New York—the only child of Bill and Virginia Alexis. Tom graduated from Kent State University with a bachelor's degree in biology and furthered his education at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, graduating in 1974.
After Ohio State, he completed his residency at Mount Carmel West from 1974 to 1978. For 41 years he was a physician of internal medicine. He founded Southwestern Internal Medicine with his business partners, and in 2009 they sold the practice and became Big Run Internal Medicine. He worked for Big Run Internal Medicine until his retirement on January 1, 2020.
Tom loved traveling. When his boys were young, the family of four visited a variety of locations. And once they were empty nesters, he and Peg continued to travel, both around the United States and Europe. He also enjoyed going to Ohio State football games with his wife and sons.
Tom is survived by his wife of 47 years, Peg; sons Chris (Andrea), Ryan (Meg) and grandchildren—Jonah, Willa, Ben, Makenna, and Will.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday, June 27, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with a service immediately following at 11:00 a.m. at Schoedinger Dublin; 5980 Perimeter Drive Dublin, Ohio 43017.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
