It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Veneca Penny Humphries, 82, who joined her heavenly father at 10:02 on June 28, 2025, after a long and brave battle with cancer. Her final moments were spent in her home in Galena, Ohio, surrounded by loved ones.
Known for her storytelling and wit, Veneca will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam; she loved to read, cook, crochet and sew. Veneca’s family asks that she be remembered for all the things she enjoyed and cherished, especially the love she had for her family, not the sadness of her passing.
