
William (Bill) Sanford Dutcher Jr. of Dublin, Ohio, born November 17, 1940, peacefully transitioned and went to heaven May 2, 2026, to be with his father, William Dutcher Sr., mother, Mildred Dutcher, stepmother Mary Dutcher and many long-time friends and golfing buddies, Steve, Danny, Lowell, Dave and W.W.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Betty Heischman Dutcher; sons William (Bill) Dutcher III and wife Paige Dutcher of Arizona; Andrew (Andy) Dutcher of Columbus, Ohio; grandsons Austin and Dawson Dutcher of Arizona; sister-in-law Patti, (Chris) Boylan of Florida; nieces Shannon and Heather of Florida; and brother-in-law Donald (Jackie) Heischman of Oregon as well as bonus family Stacie (Ken) Morckel, Trevor and Cassidy Lafler of Columbus and nephew and nieces: Michael of Utah, Jenn of California, Debbie of Texas and Nan of Oregon.
Bill attended Columbus Academy, Miami University and The Ohio State University. He was raised in the trucking industry. He then started with his mother and father’s company, Retail Merchants Delivery. He later started his own trucking company with his dear friend Greg Buckey, National Highway Express.
Over the years, Bill and Betty traveled the world with many close friends and relatives. Bill loved to cook and play golf with his friends in Columbus and later with friends and neighbors in Dunedin, Florida, where he was known on the golf course as “Billy 2 Dots.”
Bill was kind, caring, generous and a true gentleman with a great sense of humor. He will be truly missed by everyone who knew him.
A celebration of life will be held at Schoedinger Dublin at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 14, 2026.
