Born in Duluth, MN on March 6, 1941 to Jake and Cecelia Fosness, Al graduated from Cathedral High School in 1960; where he met the love of his life Carole Jean Sertich. They were married September 30, 1961 and had five children. Al was a Painter and Painting Contractor for 35 years and the Manager of Installation and Construction Operations at O’Day Equipment for 10 years. He retired in 2003 to continue his life’s passion “Carpentry”. Al continually volunteered for the community of Alborn, MN, as he wanted to make it better place for everyone to raise their children. Some of Al’s favorite things to do were to spend time in his garage solving all worldly problems, Mowing his large yard including his “Green Acres Golf Course”, Rides on his Ranger around Maple Lake on quiet evenings with Carole, Pontoon rides around Maple Leaf Lake and spending winters in Mission, Texas. Al’s true passion was his family; when he talked about them he had a twinkle in his eye. He will be deeply missed by all that had the privilege to have met him.
Al was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ken; grandson, Kyle Allan Nesgoda; and mother-in-law, Virginia Sertich.
