Barbara Ann Schwartz
September 4, 1931 – June 1, 2018
Barbara Ann (Townsley) Schwartz, 86, of Duluth passed away peacefully Friday, June 1, 2018 at Keystone Bluffs in Duluth. She was born on September 4, 1931 to Horace and Mildred Townsley in Duluth.
Barbara graduated from Denfeld High School class of 1949 and attended college at UMD and Duluth Business University. On October 10, 1955 she married the love of her life, David Alfred Schwartz.
She worked as a waitress for many years, serving at Cozy Café and The Lemon Drop restaurant. Barbara later retired in 1996 at Essentia St. Mary’s Garden Café.
Barbara was an active member of Asbury Methodist Church, formerly Central Avenue Methodist church, where she attended her whole life.
She enjoyed listening to music and dancing. Barbara especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great–grandchildren.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, David in 2011.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Keystone Bluffs and St. Luke’s Hospice staff for the excellent care our mother received.
She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Carol Mangham and Kimberly (Scott) Sievert both of Devils Lake, ND; sons, Patrick of Minneapolis, Kerry (Debbie) of Superior, and Mervyn(Myke) of Duluth; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren; and sister, Jerona (Ralph) Knight of Eagan, MN.
Visitation: 10:00 until the 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 6822 Grand Ave., Duluth. Interment will be in Oneota Cemetery.
