

She belonged to St. John’s Catholic Church and brought a group of ladies to church every Saturday evening. She worked as a volunteer for the Senior Nutrition Program for many years. Betty wrote the first verse to the East High School song and was inducted into the East Hall of Fame. She enjoyed music, doing crossword puzzles, dancing, reading, sewing and baking bread.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stephen and Alice (Grew) Marciniak, her husband Edward, son Bernard, daughter Marlene, granddaughter Chantel, sister Alice, and brothers Charles and Dennis.
Betty is survived by daughters Doreen(Chuck) Lane, of Duluth and Jeanine (Gary)Cogswell of Saginaw. Eleven grandchildren and 5 ½ great grandchildren.

Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Tuesday December 2, 2014 in Jarvi Dowd Funeral Home, Duluth. Visitation will continue 10 until the 11:00 a.m. Funeral Mass Wednesday December 3, 2014 in St. John’s Catholic Church, Duluth. Interment will be in Sunrise Memorial Park.
