

Beverly was born in West Duluth in 1923 to Elmer S. and Margaret P. Johnson. She attended Longfellow Grade School, West Junior School, and graduated from Denfeld High School in 1942. She worked for the Duluth News Tribune for 7 years in the composing room. In 1972 Beverly went to work for Zinsmaster Baking Co. as their Thrift Store supervisor and cashier.
She married Carl A. Larson in 1957; together they raised a blended family, Beverly’s daughter, Lynda Ahlgren, and Carl’s four children; David, Steven, Claudia, and Michael Larson. Their children all graduated from Hermantown High School.
Carl and Beverly were members of the former Central Avenue Methodist Church and are currently members of the Asbury United Methodist Church.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; aunts, Hilda Johnson, Wilhelmina (Oscar) Lindstrom, and Ruth (Ernie) Ulberg; uncle, Lincoln Thorsell; and cousin, Joyce (Thorsell) Jahnke.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years; children, Lynda Ahlgren (Don Ternes) of Maplewood, MN, Claudia (Ricky) Cottingham of Hermantown, MN, David (Jane) Larson of Suwanee, GA, Steven (Carole) Larson of Trinidad, CO, and Michael (Karen) Larson of Ft. Pierce, FL; 18 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and cousins, Donna Mae (Maury) Johnson and Ken (Cindy) Lindstrom.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 6822 Grand Ave at 11 a.m. Visitation one hour prior to the service and Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Bell Brothers Funeral Chapel, 601 N 56th Ave W. Interment at Oneota Cemetery.
