She was born October 21, 1921 in Duluth, one of four children, to Alexander and Wilhelmina (Minnie) McLeod. She graduated from Denfeld High School and worked at Fritzes Ice Cream Parlor, where she met Benedict Haller. They married in 1941 and together raised four daughters. The two were happily married for 69 years.
Connie had many talents: Scandinavian Rosemaling, sewing, piano, tap dancing, bicycling and gardening. She was active in several clubs, her favorites being Twin Ports Rosemaling Society, TOPS and Dew Drops. She was a sweet, fun loving, non-judgemental lady, with a beautiful smile and thought of as the best kind of friend one could ask for.
After living a long and active life she leaves her family with many happy memories and will be dearly missed. She was celebrated and loved throughout her life by family and friends.
Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Ben (2010), her daughter, Jillayne Maertz, her grandson, Grant Hussey and her brother, Ralph McLeod.
A loving, dedicated mother and grandmother. She leaves behind three daughters, Joyce (Erich) Lietz, Jeanne (Clark) Hussey, and Jacquelyn (Michael) Dreher; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; her sister, Ruth Rulmyr; her brother, Wayne McLeod and extended family.
Visitation: 11:00 am until the 12:00 pm Funeral service Saturday, January 16th in Bell Brothers Funeral Home. Private family interment will be at Oneota Cemetery.
