Daniel married Molly McVicker of Hopkins, MN in 1970, after meeting at U.M.D. He built their log home in 1976 which is still their Minnesota residence. Their two sons, Ryan and Devin, were born in 1978 and 1985. They also spent 6 months of the year in Montana, where their children and families reside. He retired from Duluth Water and Gas after 34 years of service.
