Donald Wayne Olson, 82, of Duluth, died Tuesday, October 8, 2013. He was born in September of 1931 to Gustaf and Ruth Olson. Don attended Duluth Central High School graduating in 1949. He also attended UMD for three and a half years.
Don was a Korean War Veteran having served in the Air Force. He was in sales for 29 years with Westburns Supply, formerly Crane & Ordway and Crane Co., retiring in 1982. Don was a former member of Ionic Lodge, Scottish Rite, and Shrine. He enjoyed curling and was active for 35 years. Don married Frances in May 24, 1997 in Duluth at St. Mary’s Star of the Sea.
Don is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ruth; and cousins, Elvin (Florence) Olson and Curtis Anderson.
He is survived by his wife, Frances; cousins, Mary Ann Anderson of Duluth, Janet Clark of Columbus, OH, Constance Wise of Harrisburg, PA, and Merna Brandon of Colorado Springs, CO; cousins’ families, Michael (Debbie) Anderson, Catherine (Roger) Dahl, Richard (Carol) Olson, and Charlotte Juntunen all of Duluth, and Lee Olson of Minneapolis; their families; and nephew, Len (Andrea) Polecheck of Iron River, WI.
Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 11, 2013 at Bell Brothers Jarvi Dowd Funeral Chapel, 925 E 4th St, Duluth.
