Dorothy J. Franklin

Dorothy was born in Wasoji Township, MN on March 30, 1917 to William Charles and Amelia Madaline Bury Mooney.

Dorothy retired after 35 years of service at the Duluth Clinic and during her retirement she was the past president of the Duluth Garden Flower Society, a Lifetime member of the Historical Society and volunteered at Benedictine Health Center. She also loved to sew and cared for many animals in her lifetime.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; her parents; and sisters.

She will be deeply missed by her good friends, Dick and Lisa Sturm, Brian Goss, Roman Gerder, David and Debra Olson; her close neighbors from Artavia Street; nieces and nephews.

We would like to thank the wonderful staff at Heritage Haven that treated her like family, Dr. Kurt Kamper and St. Luke’s Hospice for the support and care.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday, February 4, 2012 in the Jarvi Dowd Funeral Home, 925 E. 4th Street. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Please leave a memory of Dorothy or words of support for the family at www.bellbrothersjarvidowd.com
