

Dorothy Lee Reese, 93, of Duluth passed away peacefully Saturday, March 4, 2017 at New Perspective Assisted Living in Superior. She was born on December 24, 1923 to Charles and Annabelle Schoech in Fort Morgan CO.
Dorothy’s parents died at a young age so she lived with relatives in Colorado until high school, then she attended boarding schools in Colorado and Wyoming. She met her husband Robert Reese In Wyoming while going to boarding school. They were married in 1943 and were married for over 72 years. Shortly after they were married Robert was drafted in the U.S. Army until 1946. Robert worked for Western Electric in the Seven Rocky Mountain States.
Robert and Dorothy had three children, Rob, Michelle, and Jack and together they transferred from Idaho to Duluth in 1969.
Dorothy volunteered for many years for Cancer Society Reach for Recovery program. She also worked at UMD for about 12 years.
Her enjoyment in life came from meeting new friends and caring for her husband and children. She also enjoyed spending time knitting and playing golf.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert.
She is survived by her children, Rob Reese of Duluth, Michelle (Rick) Halvorson of Duluth, and Jack Reese of Santa Fe, NM; grandchildren, Mark, Morgan, Matthew, Mike, and Kathryn; brother-in-law, Kenneth Reese; and nephew, Scott Reese.
The family would like to thank New Perspective Assisted Living and St. Luke’s Hospice for the excellent care that their mother received.
Visitation: 2:00 until the 3:00 p.m. funeral service Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Jarvi Dowd Funeral Home, 925 east 4th Street, Duluth. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
