Elaine E. Oliver

Elaine was born in Duluth on August 25,1924 to Richard and Olga (Larson) Anderson. She lived in the Norton Park Neighborhood for 55 years where she and her husband raised their 3 children. She also worked in the same neighborhood as a nurse’s aide at Lake Haven Nursing Home.

She never gave up on living life to the fullest despite her difficulties she endured due to her colon and breast cancers. Elaine’s greatest joys were those spent with family gathered at her house. She was exceedingly grateful for everything everyone did so she could remain in her home until the end.

Elaine graduated from Denfeld High School. She was a member of the Norton Park Methodist Church, American Legion, and the VFW.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles, her daughter, Linda Guzek and her two brothers, Leslie and Alton Anderson.

Elaine is survived by; her daughter, Carolyn (Robb) Ringsred, son, Charles (Dawn) Oliver, Jr., son-in-law, James Guzek, 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Marcy Anderson, and life-long friend, Lorrayne.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, August 31, at 3 pm at Norton Park United Methodist Church (436 N. 79th Ave. West) with Pastor John Strunk officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
