

Erma was born in Beltrami, Minnesota, on April 13, 1918, to Harlow and Jeanie (Kiltie) Holmvik.
She graduated from Beltrami High School in 1934 . Erma married Victor F. Hodgson on August 30, 1941, in Crookston, where they made their home until moving to Owatonna, MN in 1965. Erma worked for twelve years for the American Red Cross in Crookston, serving its Home Service program and disaster relief efforts and then for 14 years for the Owatonna school district. She was a member of the Associated Church in Owatonna.
Erma was preceded in death by her husband Victor in 1972; sister Cheryl (Lyle) Hendrickson of Crookston, MN; sister Joyce (Juel) Tollerud of Fertile, MN; brother Vernal Holmvik of Crookston; brother Harvey Holmvik of Fertile, MN; and by son-in-law Don Wherry of St. John’s, Newfoundland.
She is survived by her daughters Kathy Clark Wherry of St. John’s, Newfoundland; Margaret (David) Glass of Two Harbors, MN; Vicky (Paul) Siders of Duluth, MN; Sue (Denny) Anderson of Hood River, OR; by eleven grandchildren—Karen (Clark) Morry, David Clark, Brenda (Hoff) Bergquist, Dana (Hoff) James, Ryan Siders, Aaron Anderson, David Siders, Bryan Anderson, Kristin (Anderson) Armerding, Anne Siders, and Kathryn (Anderson) Rothrock; and eighteen great-grandchildren.
During her retirement Erma enjoyed Owatonna’s Senior Place and her friends there as well as her long-time neighbors on East Murray Street.
