Born on May 21, 1920 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, George was the second of five children to Gladys and Cyril Head. George retired as a land agent from Minnesota Power in December 1981. During his retirement years, George enjoyed traveling, spending time with his grandchildren, sailing on Lake Superior, and riding his motorcycle. He will be fondly remembered as an avid Paul Harvey listener, a fantastic story-teller, and a chess-playing whiz.
He is preceded in death by his infant great-grandson, Jonah Thomas Schwartz; and his siblings Bobby, Billy, Phyllis, and Valerie.
