Gladys N Nelson

Gladys was born in November of 1918 in Neche, North Dakota to Harold and Violet Young.

She was united in marriage to Neil Nelson in June of 1938. They were married for 62 years until his death in January of 2000. Together they raised three sons and one daughter.

Gladys enjoyed camping, boating and spending time with family and friends. In her later years, she volunteered at St. Eligius and was a member of Norton Park United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the UMW.

Gladys loved her place and the independence she experienced while living at Spirit Valley Assisted Living.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Neil; parents; sisters, Eleanor Hadselford and Fern Smith; and brother, Robert Young.

Gladys is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (Dennis) Claveau; sons, Tom (Connie), Don (Denise), and Ron (Karen); 12 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Memorial Service on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Norton Park United Methodist Church, 436 N 79th Ave W, in Duluth.
