Goldie Doris Jacobson, 95, of Two Harbors, Minnesota passed away and was reunited with her husband, Lawrence, on Friday, January 26, 2018, exactly 10 years after Lawrence’s passing, to the day. Goldie was born to Albert and Tina Anderson on December 14, 1922. She was raised in Spicer, MN and liked to tell people the stories about her time on Green Lake. Goldie remained there until she married the love of her life, Lawrence Jacobson, in 1942. The family moved to Two Harbors in 1949 for Lawrence’s job, where they raised three sons; Leon, Michael, and Larry. Goldie’s faith was extremely important to her. She attended the First Baptist Church of Two Harbors. Goldie would never pass up the opportunity to spread God’s love to others. Often, when being greeted by Goldie, you may have received a hug and were serenaded by her singing, “I love you a bushel and a peck, a bushel and a peck, and a hug around the neck.” Goldie was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was active up until her passing and enjoyed going on walks to the break wall, having picnics by the lake, camping at Crosslake, baking sweet treats to share with others, visiting the nursing home, knitting gifts for friends, and even getting stuck in the mud when off roading in recent years. Goldie will be missed by all. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; daughter, Cindy Renae; her parents; brother, Harry Anderson; and daughter-in-law, Jeannie Jacobson. Goldie is survived by her sons; Leon Jacobson, Michael (Brenda) Jacobson, and Larry Jacobson all of Two Harbors; grandchildren, Jason Jacobson, Kristi Hartman, Nathan (Heidi) Jacobson, Chris (Laura) Jacobson, Kimberly (Greg) Moe, Katie Jacobson, and Kristi (Cory) Svihla; great-grandchildren, Gracie, Lilly, Randy, Justin, Tatum, and Torin; and many other relatives and friends. Visitation: 5-7pm Thursday, February 1, 2018 at First Baptist Church, 602 15th Avenue, Two Harbors. The visitation will continue from 10am until the 11am funeral service Friday, February 2, 2018. Interment will be in Lakeview Memorial Cemetery in Two Harbors.

I am so glad that Larry asked Jeannie out so many years ago. Not only was he a perfect husband for my sister, but Goldie and Lawrence were a wonderful addition to our family as well! Lawrence and Goldie loved Jesus with all their hearts and loved on others with 'Jesus style love.'
Fixing cars, helping others as they were able, crocheting gifts, baking treats, and visiting with those that couldn't get out.
Goldie loved to laugh, sing silly songs, give great big hugs and leave a kiss on your cheek! So many fun memories: camping, swimming, fast car rides, State Fair, Valleyfair, family gatherings, being silly in the kitchen, and spending time with Jeannie and Goldie (especially precious).
Thank you, Goldie, for ALL the love and things you did for Jeannie for so many years. Thank you ,too, for the love you poured out to me and my family as well.
Love you forever and look forward to seeing you again some day!

The best word I can use to describe Goldie is FUN. I enjoyed watching her reaction as I would sit on her lap, put my arm around her and give her a kiss on the forehead or give her a love pat. She would turn red and giggle . She would laugh even harder as Marcia would waive her finger at Goldie and say, leave my husband alone. I will miss Goldie but am comforted by knowing that she is in God's Care. Blessings to the Jacobson family.

Grandma, you were such an Amazing grandma, mother, and friend. I could talk to you about anything. You were so caring and you had an amazing sense of humor. You always knew how to make me laugh. I adored all the love you had for Torin and all your grandkids. You always talked about how you missed the love of your life and now you can be our angel with him! We will miss you everyday! I love you so very much!

Grandma Goldie, you treated me like family from the day I met you. You always brought a smile to my face and when you said you'd pray for me, I knew you would. I loved spending late nights (early mornings) with you, going camping in Bayfield, and swimming on the sandbar with you. I will mostly miss your hugs for sure.

Praise God for such a faithful testimony. Goldie was such a great friend to us and quite a driver. I'll always remember as she wheeled around the corner of 3rd Ave and 4th St. - Henry, then a toddler, yelled, "TWO WHEELS!" Goldie will certainly be missed by many. God's comfort to all of you.

To Goldie's Family: I am so sorry to learn of Goldie's passing. She will be missed by so many of us. I had no idea she was that old -- she never seemed like it! (We knew her from church in Two Harbors.) May God bless her memory.
