

Jim was born July 7, 1946 to Joseph and Donna Kelly in Limon, Colo. He served his country for more than 40 years, having been stationed in Thailand during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Air Force National Guard in 2006. Jim graduated from Colorado State University and later went on to earn his Masters of Business Administration through the University of Minnesota - Duluth.
Jim was a tremendous husband, father and grandpa. He is remembered by his family and friends as an educated man of astounding virtue, truth, courage and humor. He instilled within those around him the ability to strive for true potential and is responsible for inspiring many. His love of sports and athleticism was evident — to everyone. His devotion for the Denver Broncos, his hometown team, was central to his sports life.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father.
Jim is survived by his wife, Theresa; children, Heather, Trisha (Nick) and Karl (Kelly); grandchildren, Jacob, Griffin and Gracie; siblings, Larry and Jerry; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial service 1:00 pm Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Bell Brothers Funeral Home in Duluth with visitation one hour prior to the service.
