

Jeanette Marie Dahlman, 91, of Duluth, formerly of Meadowlands, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Viewcrest Nursing Home. She was born to Bud and Della Covington on April 17, 1924 in Calista, TN.
She was one of ten children, six boys and four girls, and she is the last of that generation. Jeanette graduated from Orlinda High School in Tennessee. She attended business college in Nashville where she received her certificate in bookkeeping.
Jeanette met her husband-to-be, Peter Dahlman in Fort Polk, Louisiana and was brave enough to come to northern Minnesota to get married. They were married February 9, 1945 in Meadowlands. After the war they returned to Meadowlands and raised their five children. She worked as a bookkeeper for Chun King farms and later in accounts receivable for Goldfine’s after raising her children. She loved reading,doing crafts, knitting, and crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Adrian Dahlman; parents; siblings; granddaughter, Kristin; and daughter-in-law, Fay.
Jeanette will be greatly missed by her five children, Wanda (Bob) Larsen of Meadowlands, Lanny (Karen) Dahlman of Vadnais Heights, Teri (Larry) Slygh of Cotton, Rex Dahlman of Alborn, and Jean (Cheryl) Dahlman of Iron; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 Friday, March 4, 2016 at Meadowlands Community Center, 7758 Western Ave., Meadowlands. Inurnment will be in Meadowlands Cemetery at a later date.
