

Joyce was raised in Duluth and spent most of her life showing her talent in music. In her youth she played in area dance bands, and throughout her life she taught piano to students of all ages. She was a well known pianist, choir director, and organist serving several churches in the area including House of Hope Presbyterian, St. Elizabeth Catholic, Lakeview Covenant Church, and the United Protestant Church of Morgan Park where she currently was a member.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Dorothy; sister, Dorothy Zirn; grandson, Nathan Hoover; and niece and nephew Gayvonne and Shawn Wietman.
Joyce will be greatly missed by her daughters, Karen (Jerry) Hoover and Debb (Dennis) Beveridge; grandchildren, Errin (Paul) MacMillan, Marnessa (Jeff) Skrypek, Adam (Maria) Carr, Lacey (Alex) Messenger, and Oriana Hoover;3 step grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 6 step great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Keystone Bluffs Assisted Living and a special thank you to the girls at Diamond Willow in Proctor for their loving care during Mom’s final days.
